The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC), has expanded its online safety awareness campaign to Enugu State, marking the 2024 Human Rights Day. The initiative, in partnership with South Sahara Social Development Organizations and Spaces for Change IS4C, aims to combat the growing threat of cybercrime.
CP Uche Ifeanyi Henry, Director of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC), addressed the media, emphasizing that cybercrime is a global challenge that requires collective action. He highlighted NPF-NCCC’s advanced tools and solutions for combating cybercrime across Africa.
CP Ifeanyi also spoke to students at Gab Selina School and Spirit of Daniel Academy, urging them to adopt cyber hygiene and stay safe online. He noted the increasing recruitment of teenagers into cybercrime and stressed the importance of using the internet responsibly.
Representatives from Spaces for Change IS4C and South Sahara Development Organizations reaffirmed their support for the NPF-NCCC's efforts to protect youth and fight against cybercrime.
CP Ifeanyi also visited the Enugu State Police Command, where he commended CP Kanayo Uzuegbu for his leadership in maintaining peace and pledged to provide forensic training to local officers. CP Uzuegbu thanked the NPF-NCCC for their commitment and lauded IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s support in securing Nigeria’s physical and digital future.
